RPGRebounds Per Game

RPG is total rebounds divided by games played — combining offensive and defensive boards into a single per-game number.

Formula

RPG = (OREB + DREB) / games played

Example

A center with 22 OREB + 78 DREB across 10 games: 100 / 10 = 10.0 RPG.

Why it matters

Rebounding controls possessions — every defensive rebound stops the other team’s second chance, every offensive rebound creates yours.

In depth

Rebounds Per Game splits naturally into offensive (OREB) and defensive (DREB) rebounds. Bigs and forwards typically dominate this stat, but ball-pursuing guards can post 5–7 RPG in scrappy leagues.
