3P%Three-Point Percentage
3P% is the share of three-point attempts that go in — the cleanest measure of a shooter’s long-range accuracy.
Formula
3P% = (3PM / 3PA) × 100Example
A guard with 18 made threes on 50 attempts: 18 / 50 = 36.0%.
Why it matters
Three-point efficiency drives modern offense. A 38%+ 3-point shooter on volume bends a defense; a 25% 3-point shooter on volume hurts the team.
In depth
A 3P% above 38% in a competitive league is elite. League average across the NBA hovers near 36%. In barangay or corporate leagues, the spread is much wider — strong shooters can post 45%+ while a high-volume scorer with poor selection might dip below 25%.
